Course Information
Description
Introduces Respiratory Therapy practice in the hospital setting. Includes the development of skills such as basic therapeutics, patient assessment, medical record review, safety practices, patient interaction, and communication. Emphasis is placed on promotion of evidence-based practice using established clinical practice guidelines and published research for its relevance to patient care.This course includes all clinical competencies for the program. Colleges select which competencies must be completed in this course. Competencies are tagged as R (Required—must be completed in a clinical setting), S (Required—may be completed in a clinical setting or through simulation), and O (Optional).
