Description
Continuation of development of skills and techniques on all types of joints in the flat, horizontal and vertical up and down positions, using short circuiting and spray arc transfer. Students will also learn flux-cored gas shielding and self shielding welding techniques. Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum (1/16" to 1" thickness) are the metals used in welding joint assemblies, as per AWS code standards.

  2. Create FCAW-G fillet and groove welds in the horizontal and vertical positions

  3. Create fillet welds in the horizontal position using pulsed GMAW-P welding processes

  4. Create orbital welds in the flat and horizontal position using the GMAW-s welding

  5. Create pulsed fillet welds in the horizontal position on aluminum and stainless steel

  6. Create vertical welds on 16ga steel material

  7. Build a welded assembly in the vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions using various wire processes
