Course Information
Description
Students will review and enhance their proficiency in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percent numbers, ratios, and proportions. This course also introduces many basic topics in algebra such as solving equations, using formulas, exponents, scientific notation, integers, metric system, elementary geometry, measurement and conversion of units, dimensional analysis, and using algebraic language to solve applied word problems. The contextualized course content targets students interested in entering business programs. There is an emphasis on group work and learning through projects involving authentic business topics and resources. Students who successfully complete this course will be prepared to take Math with Business or Math of Finance.
