Course Information
Description
This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of social studies and the skills for conducting social studies inquiry. The course will provide outcomes at the 9.9 grade level in the following areas: 1) Understanding the meaning and objective of social studies, 2) General knowledge of history and its connections with events in the present, 3) General knowledge of economics and its impact on human activity. 4) General knowledge of geography and how place is a factor in cultural understanding , 5) General knowledge of political science and the ways people work together for the common good, 6) General knowledge of sociology and how people act in groups. 7) General knowledge of how one uses resources for writing in social studies.
