Course Information
Description
Students learn to identify the main idea and supporting details, draw conclusions, summarize, and distinguish between fact/opinion. Reading lessons are drawn from the reading texts listed and authentic readings (online news, short stories, short novels.) Writing skills include parts of speech, verb tenses, phrases, independent and dependent clauses, sentence structure, and paragraph development. Writing lessons are drawn from the writing texts listed and online resources. Students prepare for post-tests through lessons from TABE Fundamentals Reading and TABE Fundamentals in Language and Spelling.
