Course Information
Description
Health services training examines medical delivery, medication side effects, and an orientation to the roles performed by corrections officers related to health services.  Apprentices will learn to recognize the manifestations of chronic illnesses, and needs of special populations.  Procedures to follow for infectious disease control are reviewed.  Suicide prevention and dealing with mental health issues are discussed.  A review of HIPAA rules and regulations are included in the learning outcomes.
