Description
Apprentices will layout equipment installations, plan for moving equipment, and set and level equipment. This course was formerly the M-8 module for related instruction in the MMMP apprenticeship programs.

  1. Layout equipment installation
    Assessment Strategies
    conditions under which you will demonstrate your competence will be established by the course instructor.
    Criteria
    apprentice can draw out the chalk line layout in accordance with a layout print
    apprentice can identify proper equipment bases
    apprentice locates equipment position within tolerance established by the application
    apprentice describes what is necessary for equipment layout

  2. Move equipment
    Assessment Strategies
    conditions under which you will demonstrate your competence will be established by the course instructor.
    Criteria
    apprentice moves equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines
    apprentice follows established and proper rigging technique
    apprentice can locate the source that will callout the proper lowering, raising, and moving procedures for a piece of equipment
    apprentice selects the proper equipment for lowering, raising, and moving procedures for a piece of equipment
    equipment is safely moved to floor and set in place

  3. Set and level equipment
    Assessment Strategies
    conditions under which you will demonstrate your competence will be established by the course instructor.
    Criteria
    equipment is aligned
    equipment is level
    apprentice describes the correct sequence of the leveling procedure
    apprentice sets up and uses the transit according to standard procedure and or applicable manuals
    apprentice sets up and uses leveling equipment according to standard procedure and or applicable manuals
    apprentice places machine levels in the proper spots(s) according to standard procedure and or applicable manuals
