  2. Apply electromechanical and solid state devices to a specific situation
    Assessment Strategies
    given a simulated situation requiring a control device application
    provided a specific task for the simulation to accomplish
    Criteria
    apprentice can describe the current state of the art for selected control devices
    apprentice selects appropriate control devices for the simulation presented and task to be accomplished
    apprentice explains their choice of devices for the simulation presented and task to be accomplished
    apprentice explains how the devices would be wired and connected to accomplish the task required in the given simulation
    apprentice describes the principle(s) of operation for each device selected to accomplish the task required in the given simulation
    apprentice simulates all necessary safety procedures as necessary

  5. Draw a circuit that incorporates control devices and timers

    Criteria
    apprentice correctly uses the four symbol variations to represent time components
    apprentice correctly uses on-delay and off-delay components in the drawing
    apprentice correctly uses symbols for selector switches, joy sticks, limit switches, pressure switches, temperature sensors, flow switches, etc.
    apprentice can explain timer logic and it's applications
    the completed drawing has the correct symbols used
    the completed drawing accurately shows electrical control and timer devices
    the completed drawing uses timer logic
    the completed drawing time delay devices are depicted correctly and would actually work

  6. Draw a reversing control circuit for a three-phase AC motor

    apprentice explain terms used to describe reversing circuitry
    apprentice explains the requirements necessary to reverse a given type of motor

    the completed drawing incorporates NEMA requirements for a reversal three-phase circuit
