Define the principles of transformer theoryAssessment Strategiesby making an electronic presentation that presents the theory of transformer operation(actual class presentation is optional but creating the presentation is mandatory)CriteriaSLIDE SHOWpresentation includes a variety of text, graphics, clip art, with sounds optionalpresentation has a professional look with an overall graphic themepresentation fonts and transitions are consistent from slide to slideCONTENTpresentation includes a minimum of 12 slidespresentation includes a clear introduction to transformer functionpresentation slides present transformer theory in a logical flowpresentation slides define mutual inductancepresentation slides clearly present voltage, current, and impedance transformation conceptspresentation clearly relates the definition of ratings and lossespresentation shows various types of transformers and gives examples of their applications
-
Analyze the operation of single-phase transformersAssessment Strategiesby making an electronic presentation that presents the operation of a single-phase transformer(actual class presentation is optional but creating the presentation is mandatory)CriteriaSLIDE SHOWpresentation includes a variety of text, graphics, clip art, with sounds optionalpresentation has a professional look with an overall graphic themepresentation fonts and transitions are consistent from slide to slideCONTENTpresentation includes a minimum of 12 slidespresentation includes a clear introduction to single-phase transformer operationpresentation slides show single-phase transformer partspresentation slides show transformer formulaspresentation clearly relates the definition of ratings and losses in single-phase transformer operationpresentation shows common applications for single-phase transformers
-
Analyze the operation of three-phase transformersAssessment Strategiesby creating a drawing with written explanations analyzing three-phase transformer operationCriteriadrawing labels the parts of a three-phase transformerdrawing shows a blowup of the data plate and has all information clearly presenteddrawing is neat and professionalwritten explanation describes the applications for each part of a three-phase transformerwritten explanation details the purpose of each piece of data on the data platewritten explanation describes operation of the three-phase transformerwritten explanation describes how voltage and current puts could be or would be changed
-
Create a remedy table for some of the most common single and three phase transformer problemsAssessment Strategiesby creating a problem/cause/solution tableCriteriathe table shows at least three of the most common transformer problems for single-phase transformersthe table shows at least three of the most common transformer problems for three-phase transformersthe table lists common causes for each problemthe table shows common causes in "general" order of likelihood with the most likely being #1the table shows possible solutions for each cause shownthe table shows suggested solutions in relative order of ease to perform with the easiest being #1
