Description
Prepares apprentices to extract from unstructured and structured data stores, transform data for usability and readability and load data for consumption. Apprentices use applicable technology and techniques to provide reliable and accurate data for the end user or application.

  2. Extract data from unstructured data stores

    apprentice evaluates the unstructured data store for column labels and data contents
    apprentice creates a query to prepare unstructured data store for extract schema
    apprentice executes query to capture unstructured extract data store requirements

  3. Examine data for usability

    apprentice evaluates whether data is readable

    apprentice assesses whether data meets the established business rules

  4. Perform data mapping

    apprentice devises systematic approach to modify source data for data target destination

  5. Transform data to meet requirements

    apprentice performs data cleaning, filtering, joining, splitting, summarization, aggregation, simplification, derivation, and integration to transform data for data target destination

  6. Load the data into the target destination

    Criteria
    apprentice performs data load task to add transformed data to the load schema data
    apprentice performs data load task to a variety of targets

  7. Perform ETL testing

    apprentice validates the data results in the extract, transform, and load schemas are as expected and as queried
    apprentice performs record counts and row examination for data movement confirmation
