Description
Students become familiar with the tools, machines, and equipment used to repair automotive engines. Emphasis is placed upon the development of diagnostic ability and work skills.

  2. Demonstrate engine removal and reinstallation

    Criteria
    you remove and prepare for disassembly either a front or rear wheel drive engine
    you reinstall the engine and prepare it to be started

  3. Demonstrate cylinder head removal and reinstallation
    Assessment Strategies

    Criteria
    you remove cylinder head(s)
    you inspect visually the head(s) for cracks
    you check gasket surface areas for warpage and leakage
    you check passage condition
    you install cylinder heads and gaskets tightening them according to manufacturer's specifications and procedures

  4. Demonstrate cylinder head disassembly, inspection and cleaning
