Description

Apply basic surgical theories, principles, and procedural techniques in the operating room. Students begin to function as team members under the guidance of the instructor and authorized clinical personnel. Surgical rotation case requirements are documented.

you assist anesthesiologist as needed

you assist with positioning the patient

you assist with skin preparation following facility guidelines

you pay attention to the progress of the procedure

you respond to requests from the sterile team as appropriate

you respond to emergencies as they present themselves

you assist with blood replacement as appropriate

you monitor the patient as appropriate

you assist with securing dressings at end of procedure

you stay available for anesthesiologist during extubation

you assist with moving the patient to the recovery cart
