Description
Students in this course will develop manipulative skills on all types of joints in the flat position using shielded metal arc welding electrodes on mild steel.

  2. Set-up the SMAW power source
    Assessment Strategies
    by setting up the SMAW power source per instructor's specifications
    Criteria
    you set power source for constant amperage output
    you adjust amperage setting for chosen electrode diameter and metal type and thickness
    you set output contactor selector switch to "on"
    you set the amperage adjustment switch to "panel" operation
