Course Information
Description
Building on concepts explored in Drawing 1, this course will provide further instruction in manual drafting as well as an introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Course Competencies
  1. Create a multi-view set of drawings of a face-frame cabinet

    Criteria
    Use an Architect scale
    Produce to scale drawings within given parameters
    Create three Orthographic views, one Section view and two Detail views of the face-frame cabinet
    Include titleblocks with name, drawing title, date, and scale clearly labelled
    Label individual views
    Lines are crisp and reproduce clearly
    Use different line weights effectively
    Include adequate dimensions for working plans

  2. Create and edit basic geometries using AutoCAD

    Draw orthographic lines
    Draw rectangles
    Draw polar lines
    Draw arcs and circles
    Drawing is plotted to scale
    Use object snap, object snap tracking, polar tracking
