Description
Proper maintenance is essential in order to obtain accurate and repeatable results. This course focuses on keeping machinery in proper working order and maintaining sharp cutting tools. Students learn to troubleshoot problems and to establish routine maintenance procedures.

  1. Sharpen chisels, planes, and card scrapers by hand

    you sharpen 4 chisels using 4 different methods
    Chisel or blade is sharp enough to shave hair

  2. Identify Parts of and Maintenance for Portable Electric motors
    Assessment Strategies
    By written test
    In the lab
    Criteria
    you identify a minimum of 80% of the parts on the test
    you complete appropriate section on the portable power tools checklist

  3. Evaluate the performance of a Table saw
    Assessment Strategies

    Criteria
    you complete the appropriate section on the Table Saw checklist
    you create a test sample and submit with your Table Saw checklist
