Course Information
Description
This course provides an overview of the profession of barbering, professional image, safety and decontamination in the barbershop. Course competencies include examining the importance of barbering organizations and the Department of Safety and Professional Services; comparing professional ethics and personal ethics; developing short term and long term goals; reviewing basic first aid, safety and decontamination principles for infection control; introducing current state statutes and rules as they apply to barber safety and sanitation; and learning decontamination procedures for tools, equipment and surfaces.
