Use the hydraulic press and matrix die forms
    Solder a hollow form/vent opening
The form enhances the three-dimensional aspect of the piece
Matrix is durable, correctly shaped to hold the appliqué, and free of defects like cracks or inconsistent thickness
Appliqué is shaped effectively, ensuring smooth edges and a clean finish
Appliqué is securely and permanently attached to the matrix
Appliqué has a distinct, raised profile from the surface
    Appliqué edges are completely sealed
Vent openings are incorporated into the design

  2. Create an object that incorporates a riveted element
    Assessment Strategies
    Skill demonstration
    Criteria
    Use cold joining processes
Object incorporates a riveted element that is stationary
Object incorporates a moveable riveted element
Stationary rivet holes are drilled to the correct size
Rivet heads are clean and precise
Rivets create movement that is clean and precise without a loose jiggle

  3. Create an object with movable hinge
    Assessment Strategies
    Skill demonstration
    Criteria
Use the most effective type of solder

    Assessment Strategies
    Skill demonstration
    Criteria
Describe the plasticity of metal (forging/fold forming)
Object includes a forged or fold formed element
Experiment with multiple forged or form folds examples
Object design uses the technique to develop an interesting element that accentuates the overall piece

  6. Apply conceptual ideas and designs to an object
