Course Information
Description
This course introduces the student to the ocean sciences. The student will investigate the origin of the oceans, ocean chemistry, ocean circulation, waves, tides, sediments and the biology of the ocean. An emphasis will be on the connections between the ocean and the atmosphere, the structure of the ocean basins and life in the oceans. To reinforce the course concepts, the student will interpret current data and maps during class assignments.
