Description
This course traces the history of popular and rock music in the United States from 1954 to the present, exploring key genres, artists, and movements. Students analyze musical style and form while examining issues of identity, culture, and social change. Emphasis is placed on connecting musical developments to broader historical and cultural contexts through critical listening and discussion.
