Description
Architectural Software 1 is an introductory course exploring the hardware and software applications the architectural design community uses to create 2D and 3D drawings and models of the built environment. This course provides an opportunity for you to gain practical experience using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Revit by working on various design-based problems.

Course Competencies (Course Outcomes)
  1. Demonstrate basic AutoCAD software skills

  2. Demonstrate basic SketchUp and Layout software skills

  3. Demonstrate basic Photoshop software skills

  4. Interact with Revit software

  5. Exercise appropriate network and cloud-based file management

  6. Create preliminary construction documents for a small design problem using AutoCAD

  7. Employ proper construction documentation graphic standards

  8. Use plans, sections and elevations to describe an architectural design and articulate the usefulness of each type of drawing

  9. Review and critique the design and technical work of peers

  10. Construct a physical three-dimensional model using the laser cutter

  11. Present an original architectural design to a group
