Course Information
Description
Advanced environmental equipment installation, trouble shooting and maintenance course which puts theory into practice including commercial cooling application equipment such as chiller systems, heat pumps, heat recovery systems, geothermal, and air distribution systems. Discuss special work areas and considerations such as clean rooms and hospitals. Use virtual interactive troubleshooting programs. Gain skills in using high tech diagnostic equipment such as inferred and laser alignment in order to trouble shoot or as a predictive maintenance process. Also covers indoor air quality guide lines and strategies. Use common industry documentation procedures and complete refrigerant tracking reports.

  8. Install and remove refrigeration manifold gauge sets from fully operational air conditioning system

  9. Practice a complete start-up, checkout, and test operation of air conditioning systems

    Accurately measure and record temperature drop across both the evaporate and condenser coils.

  10. Complete refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, system charging, and operational checks of basic air conditioning systems

    Select proper recovery machine and recovery tank according to the refrigerant type.
    Connect equipment, gauges, recovery machine, and recovery tank for liquid recovery and/or for vapor recovery.
    Recover the refrigerant to the required degree according to the EPA and Wisconsin codes.
    Terminate the recovery process with minimum losses and store or dispense with refrigerant as needed.

  11. Troubleshoot a complete refrigeration system and perform problem analysis
