Course Information
Description
Requires the student to apply and expand the knowledge gained from the course, CPT Coding, to more difficult cases. The student will develop critical-thinking skills by using current references to research coding questions and issues. Computerized encoding software will be utilized.

  1. Explain current issues surrounding CPT coding (ie., NCCI edits, ABN requirements, HIPPA standard code sets, OIG workplan, chargemaster use)
