Course Information
Description
The learner will be introduced to the basic concepts of neonatal resuscitation and learn how to evaluate and establish appropriate treatment interventions in the stabilization of an acutely ill neonate.

  2. Perform the steps of neonatal resuscitation

  3. Perform airway management on neonates

    perform bag mask ventilation

    use T-Piece ventilation

  4. Deliver medications used during neonatal resuscitation

    explain the indications and contraindications of medications used during neonatal resuscitation
    determine the correct medication for the situation
    calculate drug dosage
    select the appropriate route of delivery

  5. Describe special circumstances that require a different approach to newborn care including the presence of meconium at deliveries, premature deliveries, and ethical considerations
