Course Information
Description
Provide the learner with the experience needed to diagnose and service modern electronic control systems used on trucks and construction equipment. To include electronic controlled diesel engines, ABS brake systems, electronic controlled transmissions, and other computer controlled electronic vehicle systems.

  1. Review electrical/electronic system principles

    learner explains basic electrical/electronic system principles
    learner calculates voltage, amperage, and resistance using Ohm's Law

  2. Identify the different types of electronically controled vehicle systems and the components and parts used in them

    given an engine, a vehicle, or piece of equipment equipped with an electronic engine management system
    when the engine, vehicle, or piece of equipment electronic engine management system tests, repairs, and adjustments have been completed and the engine management system performs according to the manufacturers specifications
