Description
This course introduces foundational concepts and methods of planning and arranging spaces and furnishings for both residential and commercial interior environments. Emphasis will be placed on human factors, codes, universal design and professional standards emphasizing the design process.

  1. Examine human factors and how they affect design decisions

    Apply process drawings and adjacencies—concept 3D sketches, adjacency matrix, bubble diagrams, and block plans

    Identify materials, furniture, and/or finishes

  5. Execute space PLANNING AND DESIGN

    Code requirements

  6. Create an effective design solution

    Design solution incorporates human considerations to maximize safety, health, and productivity
