Description
This class is designed to give you the basics of professional portraiture. This class covers the classic lighting patterns along with some modifications of those patterns as well as discovering the proper metering and use of soft boxes for portraiture for studio work. Basic retouching will also be addressed in Photoshop. Additionally, this course also will explore some basic posing techniques for individual portraits.

  2. Adjust lighting ratios in multi-light portraits

  3. Direct and communicate with a portrait subject to capture natural character

  4. Control the quality, edge transfer, and feathering of light using modifiers

  5. Construct standard three-light studio portrait configurations

  6. Develop a portrait-specific digital editing and retouching workflow

  7. Control ambient light in natural and location settings

  8. Build complex four and five-light studio configurations

  9. Reverse-engineer historic and contemporary portrait styles
